How can I protect myself from fraud?
There are many ways for fraudsters and con-artists to trick you out of your money. So it's important that you know how to stop yourself becoming a victim.
- Never share your PIN or passwords with anyone—even if they say they are from your bank.
- Keep your card safe and don’t let anyone else use it.
- Choose a PIN that’s hard to guess (not your birthday or 1234).
- Don’t write down your PIN or passwords anywhere.
- Be careful with emails, texts, and phone calls. If you’re not sure they’re real, don’t click on links or give out information. Call your provider using the number on your card.
- Never move your money to another account because someone tells you to.
- If you feel rushed or unsure, stop and check. Real companies will not pressure you.
-
Keep your phone and computer up to date and don’t let others use them.
If something feels wrong, trust your instincts and contact your card provider for help.
